Location: Newport Beach
Reports To: Account Manager/Sr Account Manager/Account Executive
Primary Responsibilities
  • Respond to employee and client requests in a timely, effective, and professional manner
  • Set up client marketing files according to agency procedures and timeframes
  • Add and maintain client files on the computer
  • Perform rating functions on various carrier websites
  • Process policies, endorsements, and requests according to agency procedures and timeframes
  • Issue certificates of insurance, insurance applications, identification cards, etc.
  • Compose letters to clients and insurance carriers according to form letters in data porter
  • Keep suspense items current according to agency procedures
  • Contact clients and/or insurance carriers for information or to perform service as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous projects as requested by supervisor
  • Attend 90% of all training and meetings held by the agency
  • Adhere to agency’s attendance policy
  • Attend and pass CISR courses with the goal of obtaining the CISR designation
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum of one year prior experience as an assistant in an insurance agency
  • Completion of relevant insurance education (i.e. – CISR, INS 21, etc.)
  • Fire & Casualty license
Primary Responsibilities
  • Respond to client requests in a timely, effective and professional manner
  • Respond to account executive/producer requests in a timely, effective and professional manner
  • Request endorsements and policy changes from the insurance company
  • Follow up on invoicing discrepancies
  • Set up policy files according to procedure
  • Maintain computer files according to procedure
  • Have knowledge and capability of handling the administrative and technical functions of an assistant if that role should need to be met on the assigned clients
  • Collect new and renewal data on assigned accounts
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities on current clients
  • Keep informed of current marketing conditions and new markets
  • Review, analyze and market applications to carriers following agency
  • Make market recommendations to account executive/producer
  • Negotiate with carriers to create the best combination of coverage and premium
  • Prepare quotations, coverage summaries/comparisons, proposals and recommendations needed to ensure client/prospects understanding of coverage
  • Perform assigned projects at management’s request
  • Attend training and meetings held by the agency
  • Adhere to agency’s attendance policy
  • Attend and pass CIC courses with the goal of obtaining the CIC designation in a reasonable time frame
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent people skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum of two years prior experience as a customer service representative or account manager in a retail insurance agency
  • Score 75% or more on agency’s account manager commercial lines test
  • Property & Casualty license
  • CISR or CIC designations preferred
